During the month of March some of the Secondary Education students had an amazing experience by participating in the Model U.N. “Change The World” project at the United Nations building in New York. The project involved the simulation of procedures and drafting of one or more resolutions related to the theme “The Internet: Freedom of Speech”
The students dressed in suits or coats and ties, assumed the role of “Delegate for a Day” representing different nations of the world in their assigned Commissions.
With dedication and commitment they made arrangements for a debate, sought alliances and aimed for the passage of their resolutions.
Our “Delegates of Libya”, Gabriella Di Biase and Emanuele Corsaro received special recognition for their outstanding contributions to their commission.
Opening and closing ceremonies, intense days of work, meetings and discussions among the various delegations drove the short but intense period of stay in the United Nations building.
The students also had some free time to really get to know New York city by visiting its main attractions: Central Park, Times Square, the Metropolitan Museum, the Natural History Museum, Brooklyn Bridge, Ground Zero, Freedom Tower, Hard Rock Café, and shopping.
