The Kindergarten through 3rd grade conducted a field trip to Masseria GioSole in Capua. Kindergarten and 1st graders learned how grapes become wine by picking the grapes smashing them with their hands and tasting the fresh grape juice which they made. 3rd graders were engaged in the harvesting and smashing of olives to make olive oil which was put onto the freshly baked bread. All classes enjoyed a healthy snack offered by the Masseria which included homemade juice and freshly made pizza using the cultivated products from the Masseria. The children had an amazing educational experience observing the animals of the farm and collecting nuts, fruits and leaves. They also participated in farm games organized by their outstanding hosts.
